It was well past the tick of twelve and the moon had been standing there for exactly ten minutes, staring at me.. Judgmental little thing, so high and mighty up on its pedestal.. I bet it wouldn’t have the balls to be giving me that look from down here-- vividly blue; as the brightest skies resided with in two well formed sockets. Pressed unsmilingly from their position in the back of a abandoned untamed alleyway, were they would have been for the past ten minutes of undisturbed thought, glued to that of the hovering white moon. It looked sunken in the deep obsidian sky, being devoured and consumed slowly; an abyss upon which the mind of this child could get lost in for hours, if not days if only the moon would stay with him for that long. It always ran away at some point though, always left him behind.. The hissing of a frightened cat, and lung of a starved dog brought that of the mindless pools to fall upon the tussling creatures, watching the scuffle in the deadest of stares- dinner had come far too soon.. The cat would feed the belly of a mutt and he would feed the bellies of the streets; the children had to eat too you know.. Kicking scuffed boots against the body of wall he had come to perch upon, that blackened figure would begin to skulk in a unnerving twist of pace. Long stained fingers twirling to weld tightly to a large piece of rusted piping bringing it up into the chilled night air and down just as quickly, like a bat against the bent over skull of the dog.. Its cry went unheard, and the beast in which killed it continued around the scattering rats; creatures themselves that took pride in hiding, being brought out by the smell of freshly spilled blood- the smell of hope.. It was his hope though, and those creatures would not dare touch the dogs crumpled frame as clawed fingers raveled tightly to its scruff yanking up from the piss covered ground in one fluid grope only to turn and begin on his way out.. Dead streets, tired and cold gracing the eyes of the unfortunate, what a dark world he had stumbled into… Shirtless, the pale moon light kissed his ink littered frame, while pants hung precariously to the low of his hips- old boots scuffing along the concrete floor- having had carried him a ways before the beast would ever come to stop again. Children.. They littered the area; fine little donors for the thirst that he craved “Hey.. You..” that echoing sound of brimming silk; gentle in tone pulled from his throat, and hidden behind that twisted grin those animals came to trust him far to well.. At play none the less, didn’t their parents teach them any better? Nearly one in the morning and still they lurked the streets- eyes turned to that of the man, and with it came hesitation; hesitation that he killed with the lift of a dead dog.. Why the games you might wonder? With a demon like himself.. He liked games; to play, and act- why kill the beast with the brute strength-- the males body came to crouch and with it children did scatter; talking soft promising coo’s of dinner for their empty bellies that would never come..
